On April 21st, the NYC Department of Buildings issued a Service Notice extending the 2020 Local Law 84 Energy Star Benchmarking Deadline from May 1st to August 1st.

See the Service Notice HERE.

This is a welcome announcement from the administration. As many NYC building owners know, the calendar year 2019 performance information submitted this year for LL84 will be converted into the first Energy Letter Grades for buildings. The Service Notice does not mention any impact on the requirements of Local Law 95 Letter Grades so we are assuming they are unchanged and that building owners will have 30 days to post Letter Grades at every major building entrance.

If you would like professionals to review your Energy Star Profiles for accuracy before they are turned into Letter Grades and posted on your front door, drop us an email or give us a call. CodeGreen has benchmarked over 500 million square feet of property across the country and has been awarded Energy Star’s Partner of the Year for four year’s running for our commitment to top quality benchmarking and driving energy efficiency in the real estate industry.
